Title: Program Director, Water  项目总监,水资源
Reports to: Practice Head, Water
Location: Shanghai/Changsha/Wuhan/Chengdu
Main Responsibilities: 

Support the WWF China Water Practice Leader for leading the planning and implementation of strategic objectives,especially in aspect of innovation and impact. Manage domestic funding projects designed for supporting development of WWF China water practice. Be in charge of special projects of strategic importance as and when required by the Water Practice Leader.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Support Water Practice Leader to develop WWF-China’s water practice strategy and assist Water Practice Leader to establish practice goals and objectives. 

Foster close relationships with key players within business, governments, international organizations, NGOs, institutions, foundations and communities; Engage with other Practice team, functional heads in WWF China, and with other relevant conservation and operations staffs in the WWF Network. 

Act as the focal point to leverage local funding resources to support WWF Water Programme.

Supports the Water Practice Leader on the implementation plans by analyzing current situation, employing available resources and consulting proper stakeholders; Maintain high level government relationship to enlarge WWF conservation impact. 

Design and develop water related campaign to engage more public join water conservation.

Fulfill any other related tasks required by the supervisor.


Internal: supervises the related program officers, advisors and consultants; works closely with Water Practice Leader as Water Practice Management Team member; contact regularly with different working stream team of Water Practice.

External: working with the related stakeholders in water practice, including Government partners, Local NGOs, International NGOs and Corporate donors; Liaise with external partners, external consultants and other stakeholders.


Above 12 years’ relevant working experience.
University degree in Environmental/ Conservation science 
Proven track record of managing internal and external stakeholders to influence 
and drive change
Good knowledge of the international environment, business and sustainable development issues 
Good knowledge of different types of NGO legal entities 
Strong coordination, management and communication skills (spoken, reading and written (English and Chinese).
Able to work effectively with senior internal and external executives as well as with program teams at all levels of the organizations
Strong coordination and working with teams experience
Creative and outgoing personality, with a deep commitment to nature conservation.
Good computer skills (MS Office, Email, Internet)
Ability to quickly adapt to new assignments and developments.
Good multi-tasking skills
