Title: Program Manager, Water 项目经理,水资源
Reports to: Practice Head, Water
Location: Wuhan/Changsha/Shanghai
Major Functions: 

1 Overall management and taking responsibility for ecological process conservation activities in major rivers, projects and staffs within the function. 
2 Responsible for successful strategy development of programme, focusing on hydrological process and water security, Three Gorges Dam regulation and river-lake natural connection maintaining in Poyang and Dongting Lake, as well as implementation of programme and projects associated with WWF Programme strategy and goals.
3 Liaises and account manages to strengthen relations with Government, partners, other NGOs, donors and associate committees.
4 Assists and coordinates with relevant practice team of WWF China to develop the work plan and budget, monitor and evaluate to ensure the delivery of committed conservation results and impact.
5 Liaises the internal collaboration across the projects as relevant to the achievement of the programme conservation strategic goals and action plans. 
6 Strengthens the project communications within and/or beyond WWF China.
7 Responsible for the development of fundraising proposal related ecological process conservation in major rivers in China

Key Responsibilities:

1 Maintains and develops partnership network with local governmental departments, local communities, consultants, academic institutions, companies, other NGOs, and other international organizations. 
2 Leads the collection, analysis, coordination, production and dissemination of communication documentations for the Programme to promote and profile the programme within and/or beyond WWF, including:
Monthly Programme news updates  
Programme profiles, Q&As, issue papers, achievement highlights and briefs
Programme information for WWF connect and other documents as appropriate
3 Take the full ownership of the actualizing the relevant program objectives. 
4 Prepare and monitor the annual budget of field projects in collaboration with programme staffs.
5 Keeps abreast of trends and developments in own area
6 Coordinate and support division head to fulfil people management (i.e. AIM) and coach focus on talent development and competency development of staffs.

Working Relationships:

Internal: Primary supervisor is the Water Practice Leader; Regular contact with team members; Occasional contact with other practice teams in WWF.
External: Regular interaction with research institutions, major stakeholders including CTG, government agencies, local communities etc.  


1 Master’s Degree and equivalent, Ph.D is preferred.
2 6+ years working experiences in related area.
3 Good relationship with research institutions, local communities and working ability.
4 Good communication skills, communicate effectively and efficiently.
5 Proactive, innovative and output-oriented personality with good communication skills.
6 Good command of English. Excellent English and Chinese in writing, speaking and reading.
7 Willingness to update professional knowledge and skills. 
8 Excellent interpersonal, diplomatic skills and good team worker.
9 Strong project management skills, results orientation.
10 Experience of working in an international context and the ability to respect and work well with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
