Consultant of monitoring and patrolling (6-month consultant)

Location: Wuhan

Reporting to: Manager, Wildlife

 

Main Function:

Support program manager on strategy developing, program implementation and partnership maintenance of the Yangtze finless porpoise conservation program.

Be responsible for developing the intelligence management system in natural reserves.

Establish youth talent system for the Yangtze finless porpoise conservation program.

 

MainResponsibilities:

Develop and implement intelligent patrol project innatural reserves and carry out field work for application tests.

Develop youth talent program for the Yangtze finless porpoise conservation program including recruitment, management and operation.

Monitor project implementation in line with WWF standards.

Summarize the progress and achievements of patrol, and prepare technical reports asrequired.

Provide technical assistance and updated information about related concepts,technologies and trends of Yangtze finless porpoise conservation.

Developand maintain project documentation and database serving as an information source for WWF family.

Assistto conduct international conferences and cooperation projects on patrol of Yangtze finless porpoise conservation programfor achievement presentation and technical exchange.

Assist with other tasks allocated by Yangtze finless porpoise conservation program and support public campaigns.

 

Qualifications:

§Master’s degree from anaccredited university in ecology, wildlife conservation or related.

§At least 2-year work experience in wildlife conservation, community development or related field.

§Good written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and English.

§Adaptiveto frequent field travel.           

§Dynamic, creative,proactive, credible, accountable and outgoing personality; Commitment to nature conservation.

§Quick learner, and eager to work in NGO environment.
