WWF's annual Wetland Ambassador Action Campaign encourages
university students across China to spread the concept of
wetland conservation to the public through visits to the field
and conducting survey work.
The theme of the 2003 campaign is "Tracing the lost
lakes of the Yangtze." WWF's aim for this year's campaign
is to raise public awareness on the importance of re-connecting
now disconnected lakes with the Yangtze.
This summer, 12 teams from universities across China participated
in the campaign. This e-tour follows the trip taken by the
Central-South Forestry University (CSFU) team to Hong and
Huanggai lakes in Hubei and Hunan provinces.

of Changsha, Hunan Province. As an intern for WWF's Yangtze
Programme, he assisted the team leader in coordinating various
activities.
